# dragonfin

> **Sovereign UK Making Tax Digital submission service for small businesses.** Handles the full annual MTD cycle — quarterly and final returns — with a three-tier service ladder: self-file, AI-assisted, or human accountant review. Priced to beat Xero/QuickBooks on convenience with sovereign infrastructure and privacy-preserving AI.

**Status:** Pre-launch (HMRC certification in progress). Public launch planned 2026.

**Target user:** UK small businesses under the £85k VAT threshold. Freelancers, sole traders, small landlords. Non-VAT registered.

**Not for:** Enterprises, VAT-registered businesses (Phase 2), non-UK tax jurisdictions.

## Service tiers

- **T1 Self-file — £79/year:** All 5 mandated MTD returns (quarterly + final). User submits, dragonfin verifies, forwards to HMRC. Receipt returned.
- **T2 AI-assisted — £149/year + DragonCoins:** T1 plus AI review before submission, backed by the DragonMind AI on sovereign infrastructure. DragonCoins are a per-interaction currency (chain-hashed for audit).
- **T3 Human review — accountant bid + 15% commission (£25 floor):** T2 plus a licensed UK accountant signs off. Uber-style marketplace — accountants bid the markup, user picks. dragonfin takes 15% of the bid with a £25 minimum.

## Compliance

- HMRC MTD certified (in progress — Phase K sandbox test-user submissions across all subscribed API endpoints).
- UK GDPR + ICO registered.
- AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS in transit, PCI DSS v4.0.1 pen-tested annually.
- FCA payments framing under review before HEPH-backed wallet launch.

## Technical stack (unique)

- **Server:** Pony/Hobby web framework, nspawn-isolated on a sovereign Contabo VPS in the UK.
- **AI backend:** Runs on the DragonFire cooperative fleet's DragonMind service (node: NOUS on Atlantis) via a dedicated WireGuard tunnel. Not on OpenAI, Anthropic, or any hyperscaler.
- **Wallet backend:** DragonFire fleet wallets (HEPH on Pandora). No Stripe.
- **Search/SEO:** THOTH on Geonet.
- **Client:** Raspberry Pi 5 with Ed25519 keypair identity + local tax rulebook mirror.
- **Number encoding for AI:** identity fields (VRN, UTR, NINO, email, name) tokenised 1:1; monetary amounts stay raw so AI can reason numerically; cost signal carried via DragonBreath depletion events.

## API (public endpoints, coming with launch)

- `POST /auth/register` — client identity registration (Ed25519 pubkey handshake)
- `POST /submissions/{vat,sa,itsa,property,se}` — file a return
- `GET /audits/{id}` — poll AI or accountant review status
- `POST /debug/verify-vector` — reproducibility test for CI
